Correctional & Juvenile Justice Studies

Graduate Assistantships & Scholarships

Assistantships
Graduate assistantships are available through the College of Justice & Safety each year. These assistantships are designed to allow students to assist faculty with research and teaching activities.

Graduate Assistants in the Correctional/Juvenile Justice Graduate Studies Program typically work 20 hours per week collaborating with professors on various research and teaching projects, while school is in session. Out of state students who receive a graduate assistantship receive a waiver of the out of state differential of their tuition, allowing them to pay tuition at the in-state rate. Additionally, graduate assistants are regularly given the opportunity to present their research at professional conferences and publish in scientific journals.
Scholarships
From time to time, the Department may have scholarship money available to students whose employment or funding situation do not allow them to accept a Graduate Assistantship position. Funding is based on availability and will be awarded based on application criteria.
